Let’s start with the basics: a warranty covers the cost of qualified repairs. Qualified repairs depend on the warranty. New car warranties cover manufacturer defects, which is why new cars always have warranties. Dealerships should also offer warranties on their used vehicles, and here’s why. 

When a vehicle is pre-owned, it can come to the dealership with issues. In the best-case scenario, the dealership should thoroughly inspect the vehicle and provide any necessary repairs. (That’s why we have a 172-point vehicle inspection on every vehicle that comes through our lot.) Some dealerships, however, sell as-is, and it’s in their best interest not to cover the cost of repairs. Dealerships like US Auto Sales, who want customers to come back again and again, will provide any needed repairs and provide a warranty just to cover the very rare scenario where something has been missed. 

Having a warranty on your used vehicle means that you don’t have to worry about running into issues that you didn’t catch during your test drive. The cost of repairs can be high, but with a warranty, you won’t be paying tons of money on car repairs within weeks of buying a car. The car purchase itself is a big purchase, and we don’t want our customers to be stressed out about the quality of their used vehicles.
